Why Do Women Have Hair Loss? Reasons Revealed!

Concerning the aspect of health, taking care of your hairs is essential. If individual attention is not provided your hair will soon become damaged and quite possibly you may start experiencing hair loss. While hair loss is a problem for both men and women, more women have been reporting some sort of hair thinning or hair loss than ever before. There are many aspects that can actually impact how hair grows, and whether it grows at all. Genetics, Hormones, Medications or Drugs, the Environment, and Nutritional Deficiencies are some of the main factors contributing to hair loss.. Also, women's hair styles, perms, highlights, and hot oil treatments can cause sufficient damage. Poor hygiene can even play a significant role in experiencing an unnatural amount of hair thinning and/or hair loss.

First, let's discuss what causes damage to hair follicles. There are several different factors that contribute to hair loss and damage; hair style, perms, highlights, hot oil treatments, poor hygiene, and more. Each one of these factors can ruin your hair and may cause permanent damage. For example, hot oil treatments are great for those who suffer from dry hair and scalp but did you know that hot oil treatments can cause the hair follicle to become inflamed which can cause scarring and permanent hair loss? Putting your child's hair up in piggy tails is great but did you know that pulling their hair too tight will cause hair loss? It can scar the scalp and permanently damage the hair follicles which will block the hair from growing forever.

Brushes used can also cause damage to your hair. That is mainly due to no one having the same texture of hair. Therefore, when you brush your hair with a flair styler brush it may cause your hair to become frizzy, contain tangles or even split dead ends. Using a cushion brush with healthy hair there isn't any static or frizz that usually occurs with unhealthy hair. As long as split ends are not a problem for you, a vent brush is a great choice. One set back is that if you do have split ends it is possible to worsen damage to your hair resulting in frizzy and unmanageable hair. Combs are also good to use with hair that isn't too damaged.

Now let's examine additional causes that are involved with hair loss

1. Your Genes

Recent advances in genetic research have allowed scientists to grab hold of new tools with which to learn more about how genetics may cause hair loss in some women.. Heredity will always play a big role when it comes to hair growth problems. If your direct relatives are thinning or balding, you are pretty much certain to experience the same as them.

Even with your genetics planned out, there are still plenty of options available to you that can help prevent hair loss. Just work out a preventative treatment plan to keep the hair you have and even grow new hair. Have this plan up and going before any real effects begin to show.

2. Hormones

Hormones are also a factor on why people lose their hair. It's not necessarily hormones themselves but more fluctuations in hormone levels. Like when women are pregnant, their hair is thicker, healthier, and more beautiful than it ever will be. But after childbirth, their hair will usually begin to fall out in large amounts. This hair loss is normal due to their hormones. Eventually the hair thinning will cease once the hormonal balance is brought back into alignment.

Some people only need to check and adjust any hormonal imbalances to help prevent hair growth problems. The one thing to undertake before anything else is to talk with your doctor concerning your specific case of pattern baldness. He or she will be able to do some blood work and see if any imbalances or other possible medical justifications, that may cause hair loss, can be ruled out. Also, any causes found by your doctor will quite often stop once it is properly treated.

3. Medications or Drugs

While illegal drugs certainly do damage to your hair, including sudden hair loss, a number of legal prescription drugs may also cause sudden hair loss in some women. Research has mentioned quite often certain drugs that tend to cause abrupt women's hair loss in which hair falls out in clumps or patches. These include Nexium, Accutane for acne, and a host of anti-convulsants for seizure disorders. Others are the majority of anti-coagulants containing Wafarin, and most anti-depressants.

This is usually a rare occurrence, but if you are experiencing more than usual hair loss or hair thinning and are on one of these types of medications, you may want to contact your doctor about it. It will be up to your doctor whether to reduce your dose or change your prescription if they think it is directly related to your hair loss.

4. The Surrounding Environment

Pollution in the environment is a major cause of estrogen production in the body. Unless you migrate out of the city and into the green countryside, then you will need to improve your body's ability to neutralize the pollution before it causes the production of estrogen. To do this, ultimately you will need to detoxify your liver. There are many liver cleanser products available, and I advise you to avail yourself of these and do a liver cleanse on a regular basis.

5. Nutritionally Deficient

Nutritional deficiency is also another reason some people lose their hair. Hair loss is one of the symptoms of anorexia and bulimia because these disorders are characterized by a lack of nutrients. However, your deficiency does not need to be severe for you to notice a difference in your hair. Even a slight nutritional deficiency can lead to thinning hair.

Supplements have been designed just for hair health based entirely on nutritional deficiencies. Feeling like you aren't deficient in any nutrients doesn't mean you can't do more. These supplements are available to provide additional help in accelerating growth and increasing the strength of your hair. The kinds of food you are eating must also be taken into consideration. Food these days have plenty of unhealthy chemicals that can cause estrogen production. This negative production can have an impact on whether or not you notice a case of excessive hair loss. Making sure to involve a low carbohydrate/high protein diet,for this will help combat hair loss. A consistent liver detox will also aid in subsiding the chemicals found in food, but a much better way is to start eating more organic foods. This will rule out artificial chemicals completely.

In order to take care of your hair you may need to use a more natural approach to avoid follicle inflammation or damaged hair and scalp. You can use such things as lemons for hair highlights, olive oil for moisture, aloe vera for a conditioning. You can purchase all the pure natural products at any health food store. However, if you think your hair is thinning more than usual or you start noticing more hair loss than normal, the very first thing you should do is see your physician to make sure that it isn't caused by any medical conditions. Along with ruling out medical causes for your hair growth problems, you can discuss the best treatment option for your individual case. There are many different ways to treat hair loss, including with natural supplements, topical formulas, prescription medication, hair transplant and more.
