When Christmas or a birthday, or any occasion of note, eventually comes around, it's tradition to buy a present to mark it. Models are also available with raised relief features to add extra authenticity to mountain ranges. When choosing a map as a gift, perhaps old maps of particular subjects that are of significance. For example, medieval London for a London native, or 17th century France for a lover of France. There are maps available that detail old trade routes across land and sea, and battles of note which would be of particular interest to historians, whether amateur or professional. Or perhaps, a collector would simply love an addition to his set, either categorised by place, subject or map-maker.
