Why Led Emergency Light Bars Are Popular

By: Punjabi Sunil Home | Home-and-Family

A light bar consists of a collection of different types of lights, reflectors and rotators, all of which are enclosed in a dome. There are a number of emergency light bars available in the market for use in emergency vehicles, the most common being strobe light bars, rotational light bars and LED emergency light bars.

LED emergency light bars have internal optics that helps concentrate the light beam. They also contain a diffuser lens that widens the spread of the light emitted. These properties are what give LED bars the impressive bright flashing light. Since color is an intrinsic property of LED light, they use a clear dome. Newer LED emergency light bars which are also commonly referred to as linear LED light head, use a number of LED's which are mounted on a linear lens. They also contain a reflector mounted within the light which gives off a much brighter and wider light.

One of the qualities that set aside the LED emergency light bars is its ability to produce different colors. LED emergency light bars do not require a colored dome as it is able to produce different colors of light. This light is also very bright, proving very useful to police officers as they cannot be easily ignored. This type of light bar does also not require color filters on top of the colored dome, giving manufacturers an opportunity to produce quality product. These lights are relatively small and are usually made to be aero-dynamic to reduce wind resistance. They can be easily switched on and off and work independently from the siren, which proves to be very convenient for emergency vehicle operators.

We also see minimal light wastage in the LED emergency light bars since they do not use external reflectors to divert light. This makes LED emergency light bars much lighter than other emergency bars as well as the capability to focus on a spot or an object, by simply being guided by the user. We do not see this kind of quality with rotator or strobe emergency light bars. LED light bars are perceived to be much more environmentally friendly than other light bars, which is important in today's environmentally conscious world.

LED emergency light bars have revolutionized emergency lighting. Police and other emergency vehicles can be seen from a distance thanks to the LED emergency light bars. This type of emergency lighting uses less power, lasts much longer, is much brighter and puts out better quality light than its predecessors. There are also no filaments used and so cannot burn out. LED light bars can be used for long periods of time without overheating or draining the car battery. It is therefore easy to see why LED light bars are so popular with emergency vehicle operators. Advances in technology means that there will be even better emergency lighting developed, but until then, we can stay content with the LED emergency light bars.
