Why You Should Invest In Island Range Hood

By: David Scott Home | Home-and-Family | Home-Appliances

A kitchen vent, as the name suggests, is a vent in the kitchen that helps to sweep stale air from the kitchen outside. A kitchen vent can be installed anywhere in the kitchen, depending on your choice. An island range hood, on the other hand, is installed in the island of the kitchen. It may be installed near a window or the exterior wall, but then the whole purpose of the island range hood is defeated. Wherever you install the kitchen vent or the island range hood, what you are doing is keeping the kitchen clean and odorless and helping out the person who spends the maximum time in the kitchen.

A kitchen vent can be installed anywhere in the kitchen, depending on how you wish to use it. If you want the stale air of the kitchen to escape through the exterior wall of the kitchen or through the window, then the kitchen vent can be installed near the window. On the other hand, if you want the stale air to escape from a chimney, then the kitchen vent can be installed directly over the cooking stove. In both the cases, all the oil, dirt, grime and smoke from the cooking will be swept by the kitchen vent and deposited outside the house. There are fans inside the kitchen vent that act as an exhaust. They collect the warm and stale air of the kitchen and put them outside. Fresh air will immediately replace the stale air.

In the case of an island range hood, the place to put it is in the island of the kitchen. An island range hood can also be installed near the window, but by definition, it must be there in the island. An island range hood should be of the ductless type because it is not installed near an exterior window. A ductless island range hood filters the air of the kitchen instead of sweeping it outside. It consists of filters made of charcoal or aluminum. Charcoal and aluminum filters can be cleaned easily and if the need arises, they can also be replaced at a very low cost.

Both the kitchen vent and the island range hood are a must for the modern kitchen. The kitchen constitutes an important part of a home and more often than not, the family dines together in the kitchen. Even if there is a formal dining room, it is likely to be located near the kitchen. When everyone sits down to eat, and that includes guests, you as host will surely not want warm and stale air from the kitchen invade everyone’s nostrils and destroy the pleasure of eating. A kitchen vent or an island range hood will help you solve this issue.

While a kitchen vent works well anywhere within the kitchen, an island range hood works better well inside the kitchen. If you want to see your kitchen spic and span, then invest on a kitchen vent or an island range hood without further delay. You will be doing your family and yourself a big favor by buying any of these items. The investment will bring in more than adequate return.
