Winning Over Your Ebay Competitors

By: James Thomas. Home | Business | Entrepreneur

One of the most overlooked areas of eBay is that it's a great ground for you to find out what your eBay competitors are up to. The research tools that are provided for customers are also an ideal way for you to investigate which products sell and which don't as well as the ideal selling price and what products are most popular. It's something that not many sellers do, but if you take the chance to take a sneaky peek at your eBay competitors, you can be on good ground to doing a better job than them and that also means making much more money.

If you take your time to do some investigation, you can explore different styles of listings, different wordings and pictures and how they have impacted upon the outcome of the sale. You will be able to steal some great ideas that can even boost your sales amounts and make you better profits.

Many of your eBay competitors will have years of experience in the business. That doesn't mean that you should let that deter you - just leverage against their experience and use it for yourself. One of the best things that you can do is type in the keywords related to the items that you are going to sell. Take some notes about the sellers, the prices and if there was anything in particular that caught your attention.

If you already have a wholesale supplier set up, type in the details of some of the products that you are considering selling. See if you will be making a good profit margin, or if perhaps your interests would be better focused about something that you hadn't already looked at.

One thing that you won't be able to find out through eBay is if a seller has their items posted by wholesale"". This means that everything they sell is drop shipped by a central supplier, and the seller doesn't have their own storage warehouse. There is usually a fee associated with this to cover the shipping cost, but that's something they would have been paying anyway. Selling items posted by wholesale"" is actually how most of the profitable businesses on eBay make so much money. They are outsourcing this tasks to someone else so that they can concentrate on doing the actual selling, and making more sales to make more money.

Perhaps one of the biggest points that you should do is to make note of the keywords used by your eBay competitors. They might be using something in their title description that you hadn't thought of, and this can often mean the difference between a sale or a missed item. The way that customers browse through items on eBay is all connected to these keywords so you should treat them like gold, and certainly is another seller is using a strategy that you hadn't thought of - you should make sure that you apply it to every listing from then on!

Using posted by wholesale"" and the wisdom of your eBay competition is a guaranteed winner when it comes to the online auctions business.
