Many affiliate beginners wonder if they should promote several products with one website only or set up a new website for each product they want to promote. Others wonder if they should link directly to the vendor's salespage or if they really need to get their own site? When you start, it's better to concentrate on one website only. Furthermore, while you are learning the ins and out of this online business model, just stick with one product at a time. I would even say that you need to try one traffic generation at a time. Do not try article marketing and pay per click advertising at the same time. Focus is one of the keys to success with affiliate marketing. Don't spread yourself too thin. As for linking to the merchant website, this is a really bad idea. I'd recommend this to a more established affiliate who is already earning money and knows what he is doing. As for the newbie, it's preferable that he start to understand tracking and conversion right from the start. I didn't track my marketing effort my first year online, and now that I do, I know that I left a lot of money on the table. Let me give you an example. I am promoting a forex product with clickbank these days, and I've made several sales during this month. I logged into my clickbank account to find out where the sales came from. I wanted to know if they bought through my newsletter or from my website? This is what I wanted to know, but unfortunately, I made a mistake and added a wrong tracing code! This is a small mistake, but the problem is that I don't know what made me more sales. Anyway, I corrected this, and I will find out very soon. Don't forget, focus on one thing at a time if you are just starting and track your visitors.
