Yllas Resort In Lapland

By: Tim Warrington Home | Travel-and-Leisure

A Lapland holiday in the snow is something that adults and children will never forget. From the magic of the first snow fall in October, Lapland is transformed into a truly magical place. Staying in one of the beautiful and secluded Lapland Log Cabins will only add to the magic of Lapland. Many Lapland Log Cabins are set in the heart of the pine forests where the quiet leaves room for the silent fall of the twinkly snow. Holidays in Lapland are full of exciting and magical things to do. Apart from the reindeer that happily wonder free, there are the fabulous ski slopes that offer everything for the beginner to the more experienced and of course the children are always well catered for. The husky dogs are a must in Lapland, you can go all out and control your own pack of husky dogs on an exhilarating ride through the Yllas pine forests followed by a warm and hot berry juice before the ride home to your Log Cabin, or you can simply go and visit the dogs at their home along with the adorable puppies. There is of course Santa Claus. The Santa toy store is fabulous for the children and a special visit to Santa at his very own home is a magical experience for children and adults. There are also lots of other activities in Lapland you can become involved in depending on where you stay in Lapland. Yllas has its very own farm that you can visit all year around. As well as all the animals you can see, it has its very own sleigh runs, great for the kids and adults. After a fun day in Yllas you can sit by the fire and toast your own sausages whilst keeping warm.

Just being in Lapland is magical in itself, simply taking a walk to the shop or restaurant fills you with wonder and the true magic of Christmas. Children love nothing more than being pulled along on a sleigh and there are no shortage of those, just pick up one of the many sleighs dotted around the log cabins, shops and restaurants and leave it somewhere safe when you have finished with it. There are of course the wonderful Northern lights of Lapland that are best seen on a clear evening. The Northern lights considered to be one of the natural wonders of the world are a truly magical sight and will certainly fill you will awe.

Whatever you decide to do on your holiday in Lapland, be rest assured that there is never a shortage of things to do whether you want nonstop activity or a more lay back quiet holiday. The whole atmosphere of Lapland is truly magical. The days in Lapland are short with daylight limited to about four hours but this only adds to the atmosphere of true magic. The light of the snow adds just enough light to paint the most beautiful scenes across the forests of Lapland. If you are lucky enough on your Lapland holiday to stay in one of the beautiful Log Cabins you will never forget your Lapland experience and will return time and time again.
