Your Dog Eats What You Place In Front Of Him

By: Gen Federico Home | Home-and-Family | Pets

Years ago in the wild dogs would have to hunt and scavenge for food every day and they would never know where their next meal would come from. Mother Nature provided quality dog nutrition from her own bosom. Butchers in the marketplace would have to watch out for dogs jumping up and stealing food from their butchers stall the minute their backs were turned.

However since dogs and owners have bonded together they have for many years made wonderful partners and protected each other. Working dogs on farms would help farmers to round up their sheep from all over the hills and in return they were kept warm and well fed. Small dogs became family pets and they too were welcomed with open arms and fed left over food every day. Yet today the pet diet for a puppy and adult dog has changed.

Manufacturers of dog food have produced pet food in tins and packages to make life easier for owners of dogs. Dog nutrition has changed with some meat products being made from human food waste. However the government brought out a legislation that pet food for animals had to provide a full list of ingredients and their weight on all packaging.

Pet owners are waking up to the fact that poor dog nutrition leads to their favourite pet suffering unnecessarily with their health later on in life. Vets will happily give advice to pet owner that a pet diet that containing quality balanced ingredients with portion control and exercise can help with a dog"s health care.

Nutritional ingredients such as proteins, carbohydrates, vegetables and a low salt intake will help a puppy, an adult dog and a senior to enjoy life to the full for many years. If you feed a dog with food left over from your meals then you can end up with a dog that is both overweight and ill. We at Hills Pet Weight Management have a range of balanced nutritional pet food for dogs.
